On the afternoon of Thursday, July 23, at the Hotel Miramonti in Acquapartita, a press conference was held to introduce Luca Schirone, a midfielder from Cesena FC.
The new Bianconeri player was introduced by Cavalluccio Board of Directors member Massimo Agostini, who stated: “Today we’re introducing Luca Schirone. We signed him from Pineto, and he’s a high-quality midfielder who has also stood out for his scoring ability over the years. We hope this will be an important year for him and that he’ll find the back of the net while wearing the black-and-white jersey in the Serie BKT league.”
Luca Schirone then took the floor, answering questions from reporters: “I arrived a few days after the start of training camp, joining the team directly here in Acquapartita. I was very happy to be here right from the start and immediately felt at home with the group; I’m settling in well, and all the guys have been super welcoming.”
“I’ve spoken with both Coach Diamanti and Perticone, and they both told me that, first and foremost, I need to enjoy myself and show what I’m capable of. Little by little, we’re incorporating small tactical concepts that will be useful starting from the first few games of the league season and for our season opener against Sassuolo in the Coppa Italia. We want to be ready right away.”
“I’ve made a lot of appearances in recent seasons in Serie C, and I think consistency is nothing but a positive thing for a player. Serie B is a different stage, but I’m convinced I’m ready to prove myself.”
“How do I picture the first game at Orogel Stadium? I imagine it’ll be intense—especially since it’s the league opener—and I expect the stadium to be a real cauldron. I know Cesena’s fans are passionate and very enthusiastic, so I’m expecting a big crowd at the stadium.”
“My personal goal is simply to do my best, but the most important thing is for us to start strong as a team right away to pick up plenty of points and secure our survival as soon as possible. Whatever comes after that will be a bonus.”
