Following the match against Modena FC, Coach Alessandro Diamanti went to the mixed zone at the “Alberto Braglia” Stadium to comment on the game against the Gialloblù.
“The guys were too mentally affected by the red card. I clearly expected a different, more aggressive team performance. Playing the entire match a man down, losing in the end is understandable, especially given Modena’s strength, but we can’t give away chances like that. Corner kicks are situations we work on a lot, and we need to be more careful — just as we do in many other situations we practice extensively during the week. But we have to translate that daily work into the game, because negative situations can happen — that’s soccer. Today it happened right away, but nothing has to change. We have to go out there with our teeth clenched and defend with the utmost dignity.”
“We apologize to our fans and thank them for their support and encouragement, but there’s no point in talking — we need to keep our heads down and keep pushing forward. Playing on Tuesday is definitely a positive thing, and, as I told the guys, I expect a fierce, manly reaction. Now we need to reset and prepare for the next game.”
