“A goal in the style of Diamanti? Yes, let’s say I probably scored a goal just like the manager used to. He was technically brilliant with his left foot; I took the shot and it went in nicely, but I really believed in it because I wanted the ball to go exactly there.”
“When I don’t score, the important thing for me is to stay focused and do my bit for the team. Then, for a striker, scoring is always a pleasure, and to have done so tonight – bringing back a win that had been missing for so long in this stadium – was a truly wonderful feeling.”
