Black and White forward Cristian Shpendi has won the first MVP Trophy of the month for the 2026/2027 season in Serie BKT, awarded by Lega B. Once again this year, the award is the result of a collaboration between BKT, the league’s title sponsor, and Lega Serie B, confirming a solid and lasting partnership.
Also confirmed for the voting process are journalists from DAZN, the competition’s official broadcaster, and Stats Perform, joined this month by Radio Kiss Kiss journalist Susy Fiorillo.
The Bianconeri’s number nine will be honored during the pre-game ceremony for the Cesena FC vs. US Avellino match, part of the 7th matchday of Serie BKT, scheduled for Sunday, October 18, at 5:15 p.m.
Data collected by Opta for the month of September shows a particularly brilliant start to the season for the Bianconeri forward, who has distinguished himself among the continent’s top scorers. Across Europe’s five major leagues and their respective second divisions, only players of the caliber of Raphinha (seven) and Lamine Yamal (five) have scored more than Cristian Shpendi, who has four goals.
At the European level, among those who have scored at least the same number of goals, Shpendi ranks second in scoring percentage, at 66.7%. The only player to do better was Carlos Hernández of Ceuta with 80%.
The Cavalluccio forward’s contribution is also evident in aerial duels won: Shpendi, with 14, remains among the best in the category, surpassed only by Fabio Abiuso (15) and Raffaele Russo (16).
Rounding out the picture of his all-around performance are his stats for balls recovered in the final third of the field: among Serie BKT forwards in September, only Lorenzo Insigne and Bernat Guiu (both with five) outperformed Shpendi (four).
A mobile and versatile center forward, Cristian Shpendi has been a key player for Cesena for years, ever since his youth days. After winning the 2021–2022 Primavera 2 Championship and the 2022 Primavera 2 Super Cup, he made his Serie BKT debut in August 2024, finishing the season with 38 appearances and 13 goals. He repeated that performance last season, racking up another 38 appearances and scoring 12 goals, leading up to an excellent start to the current season, marked by his first MVP award.
