Cesena FC makes its official debut in the new Serie BKT season, ready to take the field against UC Sampdoria in the match counting toward Matchday 1 of the tournament, scheduled for Sunday, August 23, at 9:00 p.m. at the Orogel Stadium-Dino Manuzzi.

PAST MATCHES

There have been a total of fourteen meetings between the two teams in the second-tier league, with the overall record favoring the Cavalluccio: the Blucerchiati have managed to defeat the Bianconeri only once, in the high-scoring match in October 2024 that ended 3-5.

However, UC Sampdoria has drawn eight of these 14 matches against the Romagna-based side in Serie BKT (including the most recent one, which ended 0-0 last April), and only against SSC Bari (10) and Palermo FC (11) have the Ligurians recorded more draws in the competition.

Looking at their last four home openers, the Romagnoli have scored six goals (an average of 1.5 per game), kept two clean sheets, and have never conceded more than one goal per match (two in total, for an average of 0.5 per game).

UC Sampdoria, on the other hand, was defeated in last season’s opener, losing 2-0 at home to Modena. Specifically, in the 2025/26 Serie BKT season, the Blucerchiati lost all four of their opening matches and had to wait until Matchday 7 to earn their first three points, thanks to a 4-1 victory at the Ferraris Stadium against Pescara Calcio.
