On the morning of Thursday, August 27, a press conference was held in the press room of the Orogel Stadium-Dino Manuzzi to introduce Marco Dalla Vecchia, the new midfielder for Cesena FC.
Also present was Massimo Agostini, a member of the Cavalluccio board of directors, who introduced Marco by stating: “We are pleased to introduce Marco Dalla Vecchia, a midfielder from Torino, who is joining Cesena on loan with an option to buy. We needed a player with speed and substance in the midfield, as those are the qualities the coach required, and the director identified Marco as the ideal fit. He’s an interesting young player, born in 2005, who will certainly be a major asset.”
Next, Marco Dalla Vecchia took the floor and answered questions from the journalists in attendance: “First of all, I’d like to thank Cesena FC for giving me this tremendous opportunity to be here. I can’t wait to take the field, and I’m certain we’ll be able to achieve great things. Everyone has welcomed me so warmly, and I’ve felt at home from day one. I can’t wait to get started and do my best for my teammates and the club.”
“The days leading up to the finalization of the deal were a bit tough, to be honest: on one hand, there was talk of a Serie A club, while on the other, of a top-tier club and a premier destination in Serie B. As the days went by, I had to make my decision—which was to come here—and I’m happy to be part of this club. I think I made the best choice; this is a tremendous opportunity for me, and I’m absolutely certain I made the right decision.”
“I went to watch several Cesena games—even older ones—as well as lots of highlights, because that’s just how I am: when I have to choose a club, I want to know as much as possible about the organization, the team, and my teammates. Also, I was lucky enough to be here last Sunday to watch the match against Sampdoria, and I have to say that, even though I watched the game from the stands, I got a very positive feeling from it—especially because of the incredible atmosphere in the stadium. I have to say I was really pleased.”
“I was born and have always played as a midfielder, and in a three-man midfield, I feel right at home playing either left or right central midfield. It’s a role I really enjoy, and it’s a position where I try to make the most of my runs into the box and my physicality, because I’m aware of how important it is to win as many tackles as possible.”
