Cesena FC announces the acquisition of midfielder Simone Bastoni from Spezia Calcio. The new Bianconeri player has signed a contract until June 30, 2026, with an option to extend.

Born in 1996, Bastoni grew up in Spezia's youth sector and, in the 2015/2016 season, made his debut as a professional with Siena in Lega Pro. After experiences on loan between Carrarese and Trapani, in 2018, he made his Serie B debut with Spezia.

In the 2019/2020 season, he contributed to Spezia's promotion to Serie A. Then, in the following three years, he confirmed himself as a club staple, collecting 92 appearances and six goals between Coppa Italia, Serie A, and Serie B.

Last season, he moved to Empoli, and with the Azzurri's jersey, he collected 16 appearances and one goal, reaching 88 appearances in the top division.
