The press conference to introduce Alessandro Debenedetti, a forward for Cesena FC, took place on the morning of Thursday, August 6. Inside the press room at Orogel Stadium-Dino Manuzzi, Andrea Mancini, sporting director of the Cavalluccio, introduced the new Bianconeri striker: “We’re here to introduce Alessandro and extend our warmest welcome to him in black and white. We’re very happy to have him with us, and on behalf of myself and the entire club, I wish him the best of luck for a season full of personal and team successes.”
After the sporting director, Alessandro Debenedetti took the floor: “I’m very happy to be here, and I never had any doubts. As soon as my agent called to tell me about the possibility of coming to Cesena, I immediately said yes—because of the city and the atmosphere here. I can’t wait to get started.”
“My goal is to do my very best, to improve, and to help the team achieve all its objectives, since Cesena is a very ambitious club. I hope to develop, and as a forward, I also hope to score as many goals as possible.”
“A straight loan? Every time I’ve joined a new team, I’ve always felt 100% like a player for that team, and the same goes for Cesena now. The fact that I’m here on loan doesn’t hold me back, because I’m focused solely on working hard: I’m a Cesena player and I’m very happy to be one.”
“We haven’t discussed the formation with Coach Diamanti yet, but we’ve talked about a proactive, vertical style of play to try to create as many scoring opportunities as possible. Playing in a formation with two forwards rather than three isn’t a problem for me, because I’ve played in both ways in my previous stints.”
“Right from the start, I felt like I’d joined a very close-knit group with a lot of enthusiasm. Everyone welcomed me very warmly right away—both the team and the coach—so I think we have everything we need to have a great season. I think the team’s unity in Serie B makes a big difference, so I believe we can do well here.”
