Cesena FC announces the acquisition of defender Joseph Ceesay, who is on loan with an option to buy from Malmö FF.
Born in Stockholm in 1998, Ceesay grew up in the youth sector of Djurgården and made his professional debut in Superettan, Sweden's second division, in 2017 with IK Frej Täby.
After experiences with IK Brage and Dalkurd FF, he made his debut in Allsvenskan, Sweden's first division, in 2020 with Helsingborg IF. In the following two seasons, he moved to Lechia Gdansk in Ekstraklasa, Poland's top league, where he collected 34 appearances and two goals.
In 2022, he returned to Sweden and joined Malmö FF, with whom he debuted in the Europa League, playing eight games and netting one goal. In the following season, he was among the protagonists of the Swedes' double victory in the Championship and the National Cup. From March to the present, he wears the Norrköping jersey, surpassing the milestone of 50 appearances.
