A historic success for the Cesena FC Youth Academy, which stole the show in the German city of Stuttgart.
The Under-11 team, led by coach Alessandro Giacomuzzi, emerged victorious at the prestigious international BeePartment Cup, which featured fifty-five teams from eight different countries, including Bayern Munich, Stuttgart, Maribor, and Augsburg.
The tournament began with a group stage, in which the young Bianconeri finished atop their group, winning all eight matches played, followed by a second group stage, where the “Cavalluccio” secured a spot in the final while remaining undefeated.
In the decisive match for the tournament title, Cesena FC faced their German peers from VFB Knielingen, claiming first place after prevailing in a penalty shootout. Additionally, the young Bianconeri player Luigi Giordano was named the tournament’s best player by the event organizers.
This result fills the Bianconeri’s Head of Youth Development, Fabrizio Faro, with pride: “We are very pleased to have taken part, for the second consecutive year, in this important international tournament, which represents an opportunity for us to engage in technical, social, and cultural exchange at the highest level. In this regard, I would like to thank the organizers—and Loris Grassi in particular—for the warm welcome and the experience they provided for our players and staff. I feel it is only right to congratulate our young players and coaches Giacomuzzi, Bianchi, and Silvi, not only for the prestigious victory in the tournament, but also for the spirit and attitude they demonstrated throughout the event, fully embodying the values of Cesena FC.”
Coach Alessandro Giacomuzzi also expressed great satisfaction: “We had an unforgettable, all-around experience: for our young players, it was a remarkable opportunity for growth—first and foremost on a personal level, even before the soccer aspect. In a competition of the highest caliber, the players distinguished themselves through their skill, dedication, and, above all, their conduct—something that leaves us truly satisfied. I’ve been leading this group for two years, and it’s been an honor to accompany the boys on this small part of their journey, which I hope will lead some of them to play at the Manuzzi one day. This victory was the icing on the cake of a fantastic journey, and I wish the very best to all the young Bianconeri champions of the future Under-12 team.”
