The Final Phase of the Primavera 1 Championship is about to kick off, featuring Cesena FC Primavera in a match against FC Internazionale Primavera. On Friday, May 22, at 6:00 PM, the Bianconeri will host the reigning Italian champions at the Orogel Stadium – Dino Manuzzi in the first round of the tournament’s decisive phase.
This season’s head-to-head record favors the home team: in the first leg of the regular season, the two sides played out a hard-fought 3-3 draw, with the Bianconeri managing to come back three times thanks to goals from Bertaccini, Tosku, and Wade; in the return match, however, it was Zamagni and Galvagno who secured a 2-1 victory for the Cavalluccio.
Coach Campedelli’s team heads into the match with a record of 19 wins, 10 draws, and 9 losses, which earned them third place in the standings. The Nerazzurri finished the regular season in sixth place with 59 points, the result of 16 wins, 11 draws, and 11 losses. The two teams also boasted the league’s best offense with 70 goals scored, alongside league leaders ACF Fiorentina.
The match will be a single-elimination game, with no extra time scheduled in the event of a tie at the end of ninety minutes. At stake is a spot in the Final Four for the Italian Championship title, with Cesena FC Primavera set to return to the field on Monday, May 25, at 8:30 PM at the “Rocco B. Commisso Viola Park” Sports Center in Bagno a Ripoli to face Parma Calcio if they qualify.
Matteo Dini of Città di Castello has been appointed as the head referee, assisted by linesmen Elia Tini Brunozzi of Foligno and Giuseppe Bosco of Lanciano, with Michele Maccorin of Pordenone serving as the fourth official.
Advance ticket sales are available on the Vivaticket website (click here for all the information), and the match will also be broadcast live on Sportitalia, available on channel 60 of digital terrestrial TV, as well as via streaming on the broadcaster’s website and official app.
On the eve of the match, Coach Nicola Campedelli had this to say: “The boys are really pumped up and have great enthusiasm to approach this challenge at their best. Reaching the Final Stages is a great source of satisfaction because, in addition to securing a prestigious finish in the league, the players have really developed and shown significant growth. This is therefore yet another reason for satisfaction and pride in a fantastic season.”
“Playing at the Manuzzi—continued the bianconeri coach—is yet another opportunity the boys have earned. There will certainly be a lot of emotion, which we’ll have to manage well, but this will also bring further enthusiasm and a desire to keep performing well. To face challenges of this level, and in particular the match against Inter, we’ll need to be at the top of our game and give it our all, and the Manuzzi will certainly give us a big boost.”
